Starting August 15, 2025, Vietnam will allow citizens from 12 European countries to enter without a visa for up to 45 days. The countries include Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland. It is part of the government’s plan to boost tourism and make travel to Vietnam more convenient for international visitors.
The policy will last until August 14, 2028. It applies to all passport types for travelers who meet Vietnam’s entry requirements. This move is part of the government’s tourism stimulus program and aims to attract more international visitors.
Tourism experts expect the new visa policy, along with electronic visas and regional agreements, to help Vietnam reach 22 to 23 million international visitors in 2025. The government also hopes it will attract skilled professionals, researchers, and entrepreneurs in priority sectors such as semiconductors and digital technology.
